This collection of 49 comics is a true reflection of my boyhood interests. I did not collect comics when I was 8-12 years old; I bought comics to read. It really shows when you see them in a list. I picked them from comic carousels in stores around Lafayette and Morgan City, Louisiana, based largely on how I felt about their covers. I tended to read horror and story comics, but had some big names in the mix as well. What I find interesting is that as an adult, my bookshelf shows a strikingly similar diversity.
These comics have generally been handled by my young hands, repeatedly read and do show some signs or wear and use. My mother kindly packed up my things as I grew older and lost interest in them. She did a good job of packing away these comics by keeping them bagged and flat in a dark closet for close to 30 years. I've tried to grade them honestly based on a google of "comic grading standards" but I am not an experienced collector or grader. Any errors in grading are honest and not an attempt to misrepresent my little collection.
I'll am interested in selling them and will have them up on eBay occationally. If you see one or more you want, please feel free to drop me an email with an offer.
