I've got a handful of microphones ranging from large and small diaphragm condenser electets to an assortment of dynamic mics.
I run both Linux and Windows and use the best of each for music. Under Linux I use Ardour, Rosegarden and Lilypond. Under Windows I run Cakewalk SONAR 4 Producer for recording and sequencing, and use Noteworthy Composer for composition and notation.
